It’s Almost Springtime!
I don’t know about you but there is something about the sun coming up earlier and setting later that just makes me feel soooo good! I love the longer days, sitting outside and letting the breeze caress my face and smelling the tulips blooming. And yes I know this sounds super lame, but this is MY time of the year. 🌷
As we think about spring and newness, what types of things can we renew in our daily lives that will promote wellness? Many people start with “spring cleaning”, and while I prefer weekly cleaning lol, spring cleaning can be cathartic. I would start by going through the closet and throwing away clothes that no longer fit due to the covid weight I’ve gained (sorry, got a little personal haha). But yes, this task accomplishes two things: you get to refresh your closet with new things if you want, and a charity could receive lots of things for people who need them, which is excellent!
Okay so the closet is cleaned, what’s next? Open the windows and get some fresh air inside. Clean out the window seals (make sure it’s not raining, but I don’t have to tell you that right? 😁) and the sills; then just leave them open for a while. You can even practice inhale/exhale exercises while breathing in the fresh air.
Hmmm….if you’re like me then you cannot wait for a 65-72 degree day to hit the trails. Our family loves to go hiking (not miles and miles…I’m not built for that) in Yellow Springs. We love John Bryan State Park, and the trails in Englewood. I don’t think there’s anything better than experiencing God’s natural beauty, so find a waterfall and sit and reflect for a while. Take a journal and write down your thoughts while there.
Just a few ideas…if you have any…drop them here!
